About Chris:
Successful realtor and local businessman Chris Parker came to Huntington in 1996 to attend Huntington University, and found both his education and his calling. Shortly after graduating in 1999, he married his wife, Angie. Today, they are proud Huntington County residents raising two adult sons and a young daughter.
A lifelong Christian and conservative Republican, Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry and served in pastoral leadership in several churches. As his family grew, he transitioned into management and business leadership while continuing to invest in young people and the broader community. For nearly two decades, he has built a successful real estate business serving northeastern Indiana, mentoring other agents, and contributing to professional leadership through service on the Upstate Alliance of Realtors Board. Most recently, he opened Coffee Bean Counter in downtown Huntington, creating local jobs and fostering a welcoming place for community connection.
As a Christian, Chris believes successful public service results in strong families, vibrant local towns, and leaders who listen to their communities. While guided by deeply held conservative values and convictions, he prioritizes good faith negotiation and principled cooperation, recognizing that lasting change requires both moral courage and respectful collaboration.

Chris has been outspoken on opposing large-scale renewable “Green New Scam” projects of the former Joe Biden administration, trying to expand their grasp into Indiana’s rural heartland. Chris believes stewardship of our prime farmland and protection of property values must remain central to any future economic development strategy for our region. Chris also stands firmly against major regional economic proposals, including a possible casino relocation to the area, that would threaten to destroy the moral fabric of our community and promote an already crippling addiction problem. True growth, he believes, should strengthen local communities instead of sell control out to big multinational corporations.
Instead, Chris supports responsible Hoosier First economic growth that uplifts families, provides real long-term and good-paying jobs, and preserves our community’s small town charm. He believes that real economic revitalization depends on expanding local job offerings, restoring domestic manufacturing, encouraging local entrepreneurship, and growing the tax base through productive enterprise. Towards this end, Chris is a strong advocate for local home rule and stands against increasing consolidation of decision-making in Indy. He believes local communities are best positioned to decide their own future and that state government should empower, not overshadow, counties and municipalities.
Chris Parker believes public office should not be about power, but about faithful stewardship and standing strong for the interests of the people.
With deep roots in District 17, experience in business and ministry, and a lifelong commitment to faith, family, and our community, he is prepared to serve with integrity, humility, and firm resolve.
His goal is clear: to keep our rural Indiana towns strong where families can flourish, local businesses grow, and the next generation can confidently build their future.
